The annual Turtle Crawl race returns to Jekyll Island, coinciding with the sea turtle nesting season on the Georgia coast. This enduring sports event supports the Georgia Sea Turtle Center’s mission of rehabilitation, research, and education through the Jekyll Island Foundation. Participants raise funds essential for the center’s lifesaving work. Runners receive a Turtle Crawl t-shirt, with medals awarded to top finishers in various age groups. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center has treated over 3,000 patients, helping save sea turtles and other coastal wildlife. Joining the Turtle Crawl means racing for a cause as a sea turtle ambassador.
