Scheduled for the 14th of September, 2024, the 9th Annual promises to be even bigger and better. This year’s event will also follow the 6.2 mile (10K) course starting at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center, right on Garcia St, following 10k route, continuing on to the Queen Isabella Causeway and over the Laguna Madre Bay, through Isla Blanca Park and ending at Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island. Awards, race results and snacks will be available immediately following the race/walk at same location. Fitness Walk starts at the Event & Cultural Center at 7:15 a.m. 309 E Railroad Ave, Port Isabel, TX 78578. EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: before Aug. 13th, $40 (10k Run); $35 (5K Walk); Military, First Responders and Students with valid ID $30 (10K Run or 5K Walk) before August 13, 2024. After Aug 13th $45 (10k); $40 (5k Walk); Military, First Responders and students with Valid ID $35 (10k or 5k) Late Registrations, Packet Pick up, T-SHIRT, TIMING BIB/WALKER WRISTBAND PICK UP: Participants may check in at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center on Monday, Sept. 9th, 10 am-7pm, Thursday, Sept. 12th, 4pm-7pm, Friday, Sept. 13th, 4pm-7pm, Saturday, Sept 14th, 4 am-6am. Brownsville (location pending) Tuesday, Sept. 10, 4pm-7pm The Weslaco Chamber of Commerce, Wednesday, Sept. 11th, 2pm-6pm,  to pick up their T-shirts/bibs and walker wristbands. RACE COURSE: 10K (6.2 mi.) Starts in Port Isabel at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center and ends at Beach Waterpark in South Padre Island. One major incline. Water stations at locations along course and at the finish line. Police and EMS protection is provided.   FITNESS WALK COURSE: 3 miles. This course starts in Port Isabel and ends on South Padre Island. Although you are able to run the 5k, you will not be timed.   SHUTTLE SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE! Attention: There will be shuttles availabe after the event. Shuttles will go to Sutherlands  in Port Isabel. Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions. Awards will be available immediately following the race. FREE refreshments will be available as supplies last. PARTICIPANTS CROSSING THE FINISH LINES WILL RECEIVE FINISHER MEDALS (while supplies last).
