In the heart of Northern California’s renowned wine region, athletes can experience the Santa Rosa Marathon, a dynamic event that welcomes runners and walkers to its newly designed out-and-back course. The marathon kicks off in Juilliard Park, set in downtown Santa Rosa, and the initial two miles offer a scenic tour through the vibrant city center. As a Boston Qualified course, it continues along the picturesque Prince Memorial Greenway, before immersing participants in the breathtaking landscapes of West Sonoma County from mile 8 to 19, including a memorable run through the De Loach Vineyards and even their barrel room.This race is designed to deliver a memorable experience with its mix of trestle bridges, vineyards, and expansive farm fields filled with corn rows. Most of the course unfolds along the west of the city, on paved, natural, and gravel pathways that run parallel to the serene Santa Rosa Creek—an area recently restored to rejuvenate habitats for indigenous fish and bird species.Organized by True Grit Running, the marathon aims to offer a quality, flat, fast, and precise race day experience. Athletes of all levels, from beginners to seasoned competitors, are invited to enjoy a festive atmosphere as they loop the entire length of the scenic Santa Rosa Creek Greenway, starting and finishing in the picturesque Juilliard Park.
