The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon offers a scenic route through downtown Parkersburg and West Virginia’s picturesque areas before returning to the city, concluding with applause from spectators. Participants receive a tech shirt, finisher’s medal, and access to pre-race and post-race meals. The event serves as the RRCA WV State Championship. There is also a Two Mile Race starting at the Towne Square Parking Garage, concluding on Market Street. Participants of this race are also given a T-shirt. The event celebrates endurance, community spirit, and includes awards and various post-race activities and celebrations.
