The Oktemberfest  race has a new course this year! Ok, Kinda new. 
Construction on State will be an issue and we changed the route to accommodate. 
ATTENTION!!! New Rules for this year. All minors 12-18 are free of charge. They Must Run With A Registered Adult. You must have an Registered adult, Unless the Youth is in Cross Country or Track. I will Have lists from the Coaches of who wants to participate. Just show up with your cross country jersey or track jersey to run for free with out a parent or guardian. T_shirts are 15 but only while supplies last. The Goal is to get kids outside and moving and Parents there to celebrate the achievements together. No Youths can do the 10k unless they are cross country specifically. We do have a time limit to be done by 9:20. The parade is later that day. 
The 5K course starts at the courthouse, on The SW Corner and runs a smooth path, with a few hills, to Iowa Veterans Home, out the main gate, and back. The 10K deviates from the 5K route but rejoins in few places. 2 or 3 water stations will be along the way to help keep racers cool. 10K and 5K racers depart at 7:45 am. Each registered participant will Receive a Oktemberfest related item (t shirt or Mug) and entered into a raffle for prizes. We have not made any attempt to be an officially timed event. You know, every event could be your personal best or not even close, but we wont ever know. Happy Running Everyone!
Please sign up by Tuesday the 19th to ensure a t-shirt, We will try our best to accomodate all late registrants. There is a Day Of Race option to participate. 30.00 to pay in Person on race day. We are having extra shirts made but if they are gone, we will get them too you. 
Arrive early for the drawings. We have Chamber Bucks for the two race winners, Male and Female, and (4) lucky participants. Participant drawing is before the race. 
Update: This year we are trying to have packet pick up and in person registration/sign up from 6pm to 8pm during the festival. I will let you know when and where once closer to September. It will be on the corner of Main and Center. 
All participants must be done by 9:15 am as to not interfere with the parade set up. Please think about that when choosing your distance.
