Established in 2015, the Nepalgunj Marathon was created in remembrance of the peace treaty that brought an end to Nepal’s decade-long civil war and ushered in sustainable peace and development. The event was organized with the help of Creative Hands and Creativegunj Media and Event Management-In in the City of Nepalgunj, and various local partners. We strive to provide a sustainable, community-focused running event that encourages athletes of all levels to lead a healthier lifestyle and challenge their personal fitness through running. Additionally, our goal is to promote local tourism, foster social cohesion, and promote the sports culture in the west of Nepal. After seven years of experience and participation, the 8th edition of the Marathon is set to be even bigger and better. We are also committed to social responsibility, and are planning to make the Nepalgunj Marathon an international-level road running event.
