The Millarville “Run To The Farmers Market” Half Marathon & COBS Cinnamon Bun Run 8-Miler are point-to-point, starting in Black Diamond, Alberta and finishing at the 37th season opening day of southern Alberta’s largest outdoor market at Millarville Racetrack, about 35 minutes southwest of Calgary, Alberta.There is a half marathon, a two-person half marathon relay (legs of 9 KM and 12.1 KM) as well as the gastronomically intriguing COBS Cinnamon Bun Run 8-Miler.For the latter, participants register either as “Bunners” or “Runners,” with the Bunners eating two cinnamon buns along the way. There is a cash bonus if the champion male or female Bunner can beat their “Runner” counterpart to the finish line, in spite of stopping twice to eat. First participant starts in Black Diamond and does a tour of nearby Turner Valley before handing off their timing band to the second person who then races to finish at the Millarville Farmers’ Market.
