The Gateway to Space event takes place at the Space Florida Launch and Landing Facility, supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission to fight cancer. The society conducts research, spreads information, and supports those affected by cancer. While fundraising is encouraged, it’s not mandatory. Participants receive a race shirt, medals, and can partake in a costume contest and fundraising recognition. Awards are given for overall performance, masters, and age groups. In unforeseen circumstances preventing an in-person event, participants can switch to a virtual race for an additional charge. Host Mindy from Lite Rock 99.3 will be present at the event.
