The Blackwater Canyon Half Marathon is held on the scenic Blackwater Canyon railroad grade and Allegheny Highlands Trail in West Virginia. Supporting the Highlands Trail Foundation, the event is a point-to-point race featuring a varied trail surface. Participants descend around 1400 feet from Thomas to Parsons, enjoying a unique challenge. Standout male and female runners receive custom handmade mugs and hydration packs, with additional awards for top finishers by age group. Race perks include gender-specific shirts and finishers’ medallions. An exhilarating option is the Black-Hel Double, a special challenge completed over two days. Buses and aid stations support the runners.
