The North Olympic Discovery Marathon and its associated events offer a picturesque point-to-point course along the Olympic Discovery Trail with breathtaking views of the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Participants may observe seals, eagles, and shore birds, with iconic trestle bridges and Morse Creek’s salmon as part of the experience. The mostly paved trail features mile markers and regular water stations. Organized by the Port Angeles Marathon Association, the marathon is USATF certified and a Boston Marathon qualifier, set in ideal weather conditions with an average high of 65°F and low of 49°F.
