The Marathon has become a symbol of bringing sport to the public. Its 42,195 kilometres epitomize the effort, tenacity, and staying power necessary to succeed in any sport. The Valencia Marathon, held annually in the historical city of Valencia, is the perfect event for such a long-distance challenge. With its flat terrain and comfortable temperatures ranging from 12-17 degrees Celsius in November, it is the ideal setting. Along with the beautiful backdrop, the Valencia Marathon is well-organized and offers free hot chocolate and churros before the race, great goody bags at the finish, and an intimate size that prevents overcrowding. The route, mostly in suburbs, also contains a scenic stretch along the coast. Runners will pass by exciting landmarks such as the Jardin del Turia, Mercado de Colon, Palau de la Musica, and Museo de las Ciencias Principe Felipe before finally crossing the finish line. To make the event even more enjoyable, there is also live music throughout the course. You will run through some emblematic enclaves in the city –like the Formula 1 Grand Prix Circuit or the America’s Cup area–, as well as through the old quarter before finishing at the City of Arts and Sciences. The whole race is a mix of history and modern art.The route is one of the flattest in Europe.
