The Salomon Hengill Ultra Trail invites athletes to tackle its challenging courses, making it the largest off-road race in Iceland. Choose from a variety of distances: 5km, 10km, 26km, 53km, 106km, or the grueling 160km—equivalent to 100 miles. This event features revamped 10km, 26km, and 53km tracks with limited spots. Test your endurance in the exclusive Midnight versions of these tracks, with limited spots for dedicated competitors. The starting field and competition headquarters are based at Skyrgerðin in Hveragerði. Athletes in the shorter races will explore the picturesque surroundings of Hveragerði and ascend to Hamrin, a striking lava formation. The 26km course challenges runners with an ascent to Reykjadalur and Ölkelduhnjúkur, while the 53km course leads through the dramatic terrains of Hengill, over mountain passes, and down Sleggjubeinsskarð. Ultra-distance participants in the 106km track will repeat this challenging route twice, while 160km athletes will conquer it three times. The breathtaking views along the Hengill routes promise an unforgettable experience for every runner.
