EDP Porto Marathon

Every year, the EDP Porto Marathon welcomes thousands of runners from around the globe. It is one of the most iconic events in Portugal, held since 2004, usually in November. The course offers a unique combination of seaside and riverside running, with a flat and fast route that passes through three neighboring cities: Porto, Matosinhos, and V. N. Gaia. Participants can marvel at the beauty of the region, from the historic center of Ribeira do Porto, to the renowned Douro Demarcated Region and its famous Porto wine cellars. The most recent edition of the event had over 10,000 athletes from 72 countries in attendance. We invite you to visit Porto, a city with an incredibly rich history, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage in 1996, and awarded the “Best European Destination” title three times, in 2012, 2014 and 2017. Come run the EDP Porto Marathon and experience the magic of the city!
