The Battle of Woodbury begins at Bicton, where there is a bit of tarmac, and then onto Woodbury Common. Although there are some inclines, none are too steep, making the course runnable. Most of it is on sandy soil which is well-drained, so don’t expect to find much mud or any bogs. The 5K route is mostly on quiet back lanes, and includes a few off-road sections. The half marathon will be two laps of the 10K course, and due to the darkness, the second lap will be unfamiliar. The Canicross race gives people the chance to run with their pets. At the bottom of the page, there is a video of the 2019 Canicross start. For the kids, there are two races taking place at 5PM. The 1K race is for under 8s, and the 2K race is for children aged 8-11. Parents are welcome to run alongside their kids in the races, free of charge. The only requirements are a head or chest torch, and a pair of running shoes.
