The celebrated Sam Costa race, organized by Indy Runners and Walkers, is Indiana’s oldest race, renowned for its legacy and participant-friendly atmosphere. Since its inception in 1970 by educators from Carmel High School, it offers a test of fitness and opportunity for runners to build towards future events. This event supports the Indianapolis running community by funding high school scholarships and promoting walking and running as both lifestyle and sport. The venue at Northview Church, Carmel, enhances the experience with its warm indoor facilities for pre-and post-race activities.
